Key Accountabilities and Outputs
Completion of financial statements and external audit
•Complete and review the annual financial statements for all required entities within the required time frames.
•Ensure that all relevant supporting schedules and information required for the external audit is provided.
•Assist with administration responsibilities regarding the external audit as well as managing the audit deliverables.
•Ensure submission and sign-off of financial statements at the Audit Committee and Board Meetings (this includes preparing resolutions for sign off).
Value Added Tax, Income Tax & SBL Tax administration
•Take ownership of the entire value added tax process which includes preparing the monthly calculations and submitting the VAT timely.
•Preparing the Income Tax calculations and ensuring that all submissions are performed timely.
•Consolidating the SBL Tax calculations and ensuring that all monthly submissions are done timely.
•Ensure that all tax matters are addressed and that all payments and refunds are made and received timely.
•Communicate and ensure the business is aware of the relevant VAT, Income Tax & SBL Tax laws and regulations and ensure that the correct applications are being carried out.
•Prepare monthly recons and ensure that the VAT is reflected correctly in the books (Liaise with the Financial Accountant to ensure that the correct transactions are being posted and that the balance sheet is always up to date, further, prepare monthly recons to ensure that the revenue per the trial balance agrees to the revenue per the VAT 201).
•Preparing monthly recons for the Income Tax and SBL Tax, ensuring that the trial balance is accurate.
•Assist with ensuring the tax asset register is accurate and complete.
Support to Head of Financial Services and Payroll
•Assist the Head of Financial Services and Payroll with the external audit interface and performance.
•Support the Head of Financial Services with process automation and controls re-engineering.
•Support Head of Financial Services with the different deliverables of the department where required.
•Assist with Audit Committee administration, minutes, and other reports.
•Assit Head of Financial Services and Payroll with ad-hoc business projects.
•Support the Head of Financial Services and Payroll to ensure that constant innovative financial reporting is achieved for the business and stakeholders by adapting the latest Financial Information Technology.
IFRS, Taxation and Compliance
•Manage IFRS reporting issues and Taxation compliance by researching solutions and propose required treatments as per request from the business.
•Performing audits on the business to ensure that there is full compliance with IFRS, Taxation and Corporate Governance.
