Work Description
Provide a supportive role in research study-related tasks. Participate in the design, administration and monitoring of clinical trials. Responsible for the efficient collection of accurate, complete and ethical data from study volunteers. Adherence to protocol and overall clinical objectives.

Liaise with Stakeholders and contribute towards the achievement of organizational and departmental goals.
Effective communication with relevant Stakeholders regarding constraints and appropriate resolutions
Participate in training, meetings and other activities to accomplish the objectives of the Study
Conduct all outreach activities and tasks in accordance with the relevant SOPs
Notify potential volunteers and stakeholders of all necessary information and provide informative responses to all questions
Recruit and screen volunteers from target populations by means of structured interviews
Provide qualitative and quantitative feedback on recruitment strategies to line management for evaluation
Provide counselling to volunteers undergoing VCT
Provide ongoing risk-reduction counselling to study participants
Administer the relevant documentation at all counselling sessions
Obtain, verify and manage detailed locator data from volunteers at each participant visit
Manage the data base
Contact and remind participants of their appointments shortly prior to each scheduled visit
Follow up on participants and facilitate the completion of trails
Recommend retention strategies to line management
Administer the screening questionnaire to all recruited volunteers
Manage the administration for volunteer enrolment
Compile Progress Reports
Provide strategy recommendations based on process evaluation findings
Manage the completion of applicable documentation, consent forms and data
collection forms as per prescribed study protocol
Administer data collection instruments as required, including risk assessment questionnaires
Complete, compile and submit study case report forms (CRFs) and source documents timeously
Manage participants’ records as per SOP
Maintain accurate study logs for biological specimens
Stock control of clinic supplies
Report on daily/weekly activities to the Project coordinator and achieve stipulated recruitment targets
Provide support in SOP development, implementation and review
Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards at all times
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Identify own developmental needs and implement approved recommendations
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures according to prescribed legislation
Report all unsafe activities to Senior Management/Human Resources
Adhere to decision making procedures

Bachelor of Science Degree or similar
Valid GCP certificate (preferred)

Public Sector experience in HIV counselling and testing, prevention, care and treatment
Research methodologies
Experience in Clinical Trials (preferred)

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Computer and programming skills
Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle
SA Citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa
Basic computer skills
Minimal/Moderate/Excessive overnight travel (up to 30%) by land or air if required
Willing to work overtime
