Core Description Responsible for the implementation of the talent management strategy and agenda to the business, including succession planning, retention and psychometric assessments. Responsible for helping to ensure that Telkom has a continuous supply of highly talented diverse individuals in key positions to deliver business results. Responsible to appropriately support the business through consultation, advice and guidance on Talent Management and Assessments strategies, processes, practices and policies.

Job Responsibilities • Strategic Contribution – Provide input to the development and maintenance of strategies, policies and processes aimed at ensuring that Telkom has a continuous supply of highly talented diverse workforce – Conduct research on processes and methodologies, providing expert input to ensure best practice, relevant tools, techniques and processes are utilised for talent management and assessment purposes Functional Execution: – Design, execute, and consult on competency models and frameworks – Implement succession planning, HiPo talent development and retention strategies and processes to enable execution of talent management initiatives within the Corporate Centre – Provide input to post development reviews and readiness levels based on the review and analysis of performance and potential ratings of leadership talent candidates – Assist with the collation and processing of succession and HiPo Pool management, talent development and retention information for the Corporate Centre – Provide technical expertise and support for all Talent Management and psychometric assessment initiatives at Corporate and in the BUs – Conduct job profiling and analysis of positions, ensuring accurate person-job-match for all talent management purposes across Corporate Centre and all SBU’s – Provide an end-to-end assessment service for all levels across the Corporate Centre and all SBU’s, including administering of assessments, writing of assessment reports, providing assessment related feedback (individual, panel and group based) – Design, deploy and evaluate leadership and skill-based assessments which inform talent decisions and help leaders best align their talent to executing on the BU’s strategy – Manage and assist with the updating and maintenance of databases, tracking sheets and shared data for the succession planning, HiPo talent management and assessment practices – Compile reports, presentations and statistics to inform talent decisions – Utilise technology and systems to effectively implement and manage talent management and assessment processes – Act as talent expert across Telkom, staying up-to-date on trends within Talent Management, and contribute to best practices and key learnings to the business Advisory and Collaboration: – Liaise with HR Business Partners and business leaders to gain understanding into specific BU talent requirements aiding in the interpretation and feedback of assessment results (fit to job requirements) – Work closely with the Assessment Manager, Executive and High potential Succession & Retention Management leads to assist in the implementation of the talent and assessment processes, implementation and projects – Work with the Talent Acquisition team, SBU HRBPs, and business leaders to provide an efficient and professional assessment service, ensuring turnaround times and talent assessment requirements are met – Liaise with Talent and Assessment vendors to gain access to best practice processes and methodologies – Provide consultation and guidance to SBU HRBPs in the areas of Talent Management and psychometric assessments, ensuring that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully implement all initiatives and practices designed by the Corporate Centre Talent Management and psychometric assessments section – Liaise with Leadership Training and L&D on development offerings and programmes for succession planning and HiPo development purposes – Coach, support, mentor and challenge HRBPs and line managers in the application of Talent Management and psychometric assessments policies and practices and provide advice and guidance in order to minimise risk and financial exposure – Conduct presentations to business leaders regarding talent initiatives – Work with relevant internal and external stakeholders to support and improve service delivery Governance and Compliance to relevant Legislation : – Adhere to the Talent Management and psychometric assessments practices, procedures and policies – Comply to Labour Relations Act and the rules and regulations of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
Required Certification Registration as a Psychometrist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) Registration as a Psychologist will be an added advantage
Qualifications An Honours degree in Psychology (NQF level 8). A relevant business/ HR qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience 5 years of relevant experience in HR, of which at least 1 year should have been in Assessments. Experience in Talent Management, Succession Planning ,managing HiPO talent with expierence in Skills Transfer frameworks and/or Employee Retention will be an added advantage.

Comments Conducting assessments and providing assessment feedback for leaderships roles. Working independently and proactively (remotely). Proficiency in talent management particularly managing HiPO 9 box talent management bench strength, developing talent, skills transfer etc. Please note this position is on a 12 month’s contract.
