Introduction
SBV seeks a Vetting Investigator to conduct vetting investigations on current identified priority posts and pre – employment investigations.

Specification
Investigating breaches regarding the Reduced threat. Security regulations and measures
within SBV
•Implements and co-ordinates preventative investigative program across the entire company in support of the Consequence Manager.
•Maintains close liaison with relevant bodies including investigative forums and forensic legal fraternity. Attend investigative seminars and workshops.

Conduct investigations to security competencies of SBV employees
•Records and validates information received prior to commencing with
Investigation
•Interviews personnel associated with investigation and assess information
obtained including the use of truth verification systems





Conduct investigations on all applicants and employees to ensure that they are security cleared to the relevant levels of classification
•Records and validates information received prior to commencing with

•Assess applicants by using selection methods such as interviews and,
reference checks
•Conduct Criminal, Credit and REDS enquiries on all applicants.
•Implementation of the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), as
well as managing the process flow of the capturing process.
•Interview all relevant role players (references) that have bearing on the
Investigation
•Facilitate Psychometric, Polygraph and Voice Stress Analysis tests
•Conduct comprehensive work enquiries
•Conduct in –depth personal interview with applicant

The timeous identification of risk an applicant/contract worker might pose to the employer (pre-employment)
•Timeously schedule VSA test with the applicant / contract worker as per the request
•Conduct the VSA test as per the prescribed processes of the Vetting Investigations
•Compile VSA report as per the prescribed processes and notifies the Consequence Manager, Centre Managers and HR Officers of the outcome of the VSA test.
•Update VSA spreadsheet on server on a weekly basis
•All arrangements to be made on the most cost-effective manner.

Present presentations to the review board if the applicant’s security clearance is not recommended or it is withdrawn, and a review is requested

•Appeals and re-appraisals are submitted to promote and maintain objectivity

Compiles / develops Management information reports
•Develops and submits relevant management information reports for Consequence Manager.

Maintains and analyses data for trend analysis
•Ensures that records are updated on an ongoing basis and that classifications of transgressions are recorded and produces trend report.

Requirements
•4 Years’ Experience Investigations and HR
Education
Grade 12 and or Risk qualification
