Responsible for managing the PR, Brand, Trade and Communication portfolio of the ECR brand.
To efficiently manage the ECR brand at events, public relations, trade marketing and social media activities in line the brand positioning and marketing strategy of ECR.
Proactively control, project manager, generate, and create communication with all internal and external stakeholders, targeted markets, and staff for the purpose of creating brand awareness, stimulating brand interest, imparting information, and building good relationships with the ECR brand internally, with the audience and stakeholders.

Brand Management:

•Assist the marketing manager in developing the ECR marketing strategy
•Oversee the implementation of the East Coast Radio’s brand strategy and ensure maximum brand coverage and overall enhancement of the station’s reputation with all internal and external stakeholders including the ECR audience.
•Approve all East Coast Gold brand activations and brand application
•Project manage the brand evolution of East Coast Radio
•Proactively grow the East Coast Radio brand awareness on an annual basis
•Effectively align and manage the brand budget to the marketing department strategy
•Strategically influence the brand tonality at all events/activations and campaigns
•Facilitate the development of a branding/merchandising plan to maximize coverage at all events/activations and during campaigns.
•Ensure that the brand message is consistent with the brand positioning both for listeners, stakeholders, digital audience and for trade partners/clients
•Assist the Marketing Manager by working closely with the advertising agency with regards to strategic and creative brand marketing execution and key visuals of station/events/activations/Campaigns and promotions
•Managing and protecting the brand corporate identity (CI) and visual identify (VI) including the brand image clearly illustrating the use of the East Coast Radio logo on various application
•Protect the misuse of the East Coast Radio Brand
•Proactively and efficiently manage the brand application at all ECR and supported events by working closely with the Project Manager in putting together a branding strategy for all events and promotions: East Coast Radio Big Walk, Music events, House and Garden Show, Business and Women’s Breakfast, Toy Story and many other supported events.
•Effectively manage, mentor, guide and develop the skills of the Trade Marketing Portfolio and Social Media Portfolio
•Effectively work with the Kagiso Media research teams to research and analyze consumer behavior, market trends and competitor activity.
•Plan and review trade, brand and social media budget monthly to stay on track in line with the marketing department overall budget

Public Relations:

•Develop and implement a sound PR and communication strategy in line with the ECR brand.
•Proactively compile and distribute all press releases on behalf of East Coast Radio
•Manage East Coast Radio’s PR strategy and ensure maximum PR coverage and overall enhancement of the station’s reputation on radio, digital, print, visual, social media any many other suitable platforms.
•Work closely with all departments to maximize press opportunities; maintain close relations and liaison with programming department for any changes, promotions and activities for the station’s publicity purposes.
•On-going liaison with local, regional media and influences
•Handling of press queries regarding the station, presenters, and all station activities
•Generate and manage Public Relations and publicity opportunities for ECR management team, presenters, and brand
•Keep close relations with the media contacts in JHB, Durban, and Cape Town
•Source and purchase brand and press gifts
•Report monthly on all ECR press coverage (with the assistance from Newsclip)
•Drive necessary internal communication functions with regards to the internal company communication plan, such as newsletter, brag slides, internal staff surveys etc.

Trade Marketing:
•Develop the trade marketing strategy with the trade marketing executive
•Oversee and manage the Trade marketing portfolio for East Coast Radio
•Ensure effective management of all trade marketing activities
•Manage and lead the Trade Marketing executive
•Ensure Trade Marketing visibility in the national and regional markets
•Ensure Trade Marketing strategy is aligned with the national and regional sales strategy

Social Media:
•Develop the Social Media strategy with the social media coordinator
•Oversee and manage the Social Media portfolio for East Coast Radio
•Manage and lead the Social Media coordinator
•Ensure that East Coast Radio’s social media platforms tonality is in line with the ECR brand values
•Ensure social media is covering all station content, on-air, on the ground events and activations
•Ensure the brand is remaining relevant and innovating on all social media platforms
•Manage community management with the Social Media Coordinator and Digital Lead
•Proactively work with the social media coordinator and social media producers to ensure alignment and capitalization of important content

Qualifications and Competencies

•National degree/ diploma or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Advertising/Public Relations
•Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Marketing environment, strategic orientation, and branding experience.
