Klein River Cheese is a leading manufacturer of artisan cheese in South Africa. We exist to unleash your inner artisan and are based on a farm in the beautiful Klein River valley near the quaint village of Stanford (25km from Hermanus).
We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced and skilled Maintenance & Equipment Manager with strong management and communications ability, excellent attention to detail and who can work independently.
The Manager will be responsible to plan and coordinate all maintenance activities in the facilities including analysing equipment needs, reliability issues, developing preventive/predictive maintenance programs. Ensure that all repairs and maintenance in and around the factory are kept up to date, including but not limited to compressors services, rust control, paint, tiling etc.
The Manager will have to take full responsibility of the tools and equipment in the workshops and shed, and ensure proper care is taken when used/checked out. This will also include supervision of ground staff and coordinating / delegating their duties and time.
The manager will also be responsible for the estate and grounds management, as well as vehicles and machinery to ensure that everything is kept in a good and working condition.
This position requires proactive thinking, and ability to take initiative in making decisions. Resolve problems as they arise whether directly or by organising 3rd party contractors to resolve the issue timeously.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Factory Maintenance (Management and Works)
Overall building and grounds maintenance
Form part of the Health and Safety team
Certain staff management duties Factory & Farm
Quality Control Documentation
A) Must have a minimum of 3 years maintenance experience and relevant technical skills
B) Must have code 10 driver’s license
C) Must be a South African citizen or have a valid work permit
D) Must be physically fit and able to pick up 25Kgs
E) Technical capability and understanding
F) Prepared to work overtime
G) Capability to comprehend quality control techniques
H) Able to work as a team
