Introduction
GIBB’s Transportation Delivery Unit provides a comprehensive range of services that include traditional consulting services (design, procurement and contract supervision), Public Private Partnership (PPP) solutions and asset management services. This includes high capacity freeways, interchanges and bridges, airport pavements, rural roads (including low volume and haul roads) and municipal infrastructure. The team is supported by transportation and traffic engineers, geotechnical and material engineers and other specialists.

Specification
You will be required to assisting the Laboratory Manager with the efficient operation of the site laboratory.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Monitor operation of site laboratory and report to the Resident Engineer on proposed improvements
Supervise and review materials testing
Acceptance control
Auditing of acceptance control and correlation testing
Provide Laboratory Reports
Required to complete Material as-builts
Visual inspection of completed works
Monitoring and planning earthworks and materials utilisation

Requirements
Qualifications:
– National Diploma: Civil Engineering
– SANAS accredited training on site laboratory test methods (TMH1)

Experience:
Minimum of 10 years experience on major roads projects as a Materials Technician
Knowledge of all test methods per TMH1
Knowledge of all SANRAL acceptance procedures
