Introduction
Job Purpose:
Co-ordinates and controls the operations of the Worcester and Rawsonville Depots with respect to roads and stormwater, inclusive of monitoring and implementing procedures, establishing resource requirements, planning and scheduling maintenance programs and evaluating outcomes, monitoring and attending to deviations in productivity and performance and attending to specific administrative and information reporting requirements and processes in order to ensure that work undertaken is completed in accordance with laid down specifications, quality standards and cost measures.

Duties:
Keeping abreast with technological developments with respect to roads and stormwater operations, aligning requirements with operating capacity and capability and presenting inputs on intervention necessary to achieve acceptable levels and standards of service delivery to the immediate superior for consideration and inclusion into service delivery plans. Evaluating services delivery trends and capacity against requirements to facilitate the preparation of capital and operational expenditure estimates to support plans and objectives. Ensure that key service delivery priorities are identified and outcomes managed through continuous assessment, intervention and adjustment to operational plans. Participating in operational discussions to support the status of activities, progress, constraints, quality and cost dimensions associated with current maintenance programs or urgent work. Ensure that laid down procedures and guidelines associated with the operations of depots are implemented, deviations promptly attended to and corrected to enable compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Plan, priorities and schedules Roads and Stormwater projects and maintenance work. Responding to urgent or unscheduled work request, allocating resources and providing directions or guidance on requirements and expected outputs to supervisory teams. Ensure that the depots are capably positioned in terms of material, equipment and personnel to achieve outcomes of Road and Stormwater maintenance programs. Evaluating the operating functionality and condition of vehicles, plant and equipment through perusal of inspection checklist, services records and registers with a view of identifying with risks and the availability of alternative courses of action. Monitoring and attendance or conduct and output and addressing deviation from agreed performance indicators through meetings or counseling and or other approved methods designed to improve and motivate personnel. Monitoring and evaluate progress with regards to repair, construction, ongoing installation and maintenance work Conducting inspections with a view to determining the status or progress of work at specific locations and ensuring that set deadlines are met. Co-ordinating the implementation of corrective measures at sites in consultation with the immediate superior with due consideration of cost, quality and time frames.
Requirements
Requirements:
Relevant Tertiary Qualification or equivalent (NQF Level 5). Code EB Drivers license. Computer literacy (MS Office Applications). Proficiency in at least 2 of the official languages (English, IsiXhosa and Afrikaans) of the Western Cape. Good management or supervision, human relations, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to give attention to details. High level of responsibility, Ability to work under pressure. Ability to handle conflict.
