Responsible for the coordination, monitoring and implementation of risk, fraud, corruption, loss control, conflict of interest and ethics activities; within the municipality in order to ensure adherence to the relevant legislation, policies, procedures and good governance principles.

Implement the Fraud and Corruption Prevention Implementation programme. Advise and recommend line management in developing and implementing fraud and corruption risk control strategies and corrective actions. Conduct and facilitate awareness programmes or education campaigns for employees on fraud and corruption prevention. Research new technologies for use in fraud prevention systems. Conduct fraud and corruption risk assessment sessions with line management to determine the fraud and corruption risks within their department. Extracting data from various electronic systems utilised by the municipality. Analyse financial data to detect irregularities in areas such as billing trends, financial relationships, and regulatory compliance procedures. Identify fraud detection techniques and tools that can be applied by the municipality in high risk areas and make recommendations to the immediate superior. Coordinate, tracking and monitoring of fraud and corruption activities and findings with respective line managers until resolved in line with the fraud prevention policy and strategy. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather internal and external information that can be collated and analyzed to identify trends. Coordinate and implement Loss Control Implementation programme and Ethics management programme. Provide administrative and logistical support to the immediate superior associated with the preparation for the functionality of the Municipal Public Accounts Committee.
Relevant 3-year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Forensics, Risk/ Fraud Risk Management, Commerce, Finance, Internal Auditing, Security or Law. Code B Driver`s license, Computer skills in MS Office Word and Excel applications, Good verbal and written communication skills, Fluent in at least 2 of the 3 official languages in the Western Cape. Good communication and conflict resolution skills. Attention to detail.
