Introduction
Barberton Mines first produced gold in 1886. The mining complex now comprises three mines: Fairview, New Consort and Sheba.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Supervises (schedule, coordinate, organise and control) the ventilation and occupational hygiene control systems within a function ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the ventilation and occupational hygiene initiatives within a given business area.

MAIN ROLE OUTCOMES:
•Coordinating and prioritizing ventilations and occupational hygiene service delivery
•Implementing and maintaining ventilation and occupational hygiene monitoring program.
•Conducting risk assessments and hazard identifications, identifying potential hazardous materials and installations, and investigating serious problems encountered
•Ensuring that all working conditions are regulatory audited





Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications with Maths and Science
•Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control (COM).
•The applicant should be at SAIOH Technologist level.
•Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Ventilation or Occupation Hygiene practices.
•Relevant qualification to perform duties as Occupation Hygiene Risk assessment coordinator.
•Valid certificate of physical fitness for underground work.
•Ability to communicate with people on different levels.
•Computer literacy. (Excel, Word)
•Report writing and presentation skills
