Introduction
Barberton Mines first produced gold in 1886. The mining complex now comprises three mines: Fairview, New Consort and Sheba.

Specification
Purpose of the Job:
Is responsible to plan, coordinate, lead and control resources and design section specific systems to ensure that the shaft development and stoping processes operates safe and effectively. The role will carry a legal appointment applicable to the role.

Main Role Outcomes:
•Ensure proper observation of the regulations and compliance with lawful order given in the interests of safety and health, by every person employed in the area of responsibility
•Ensure effective resource utilization and optimization.
•Evaluate theoretical concepts and design improvements.
•Develop and maintain a document management system to ensure efficient storage and access of information.
•Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice and report deviations.
•Ensure adherence and compliance to Safety, Health and Environmental processes.





Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
•NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 Certificate)
•Metalliferous Mining Blasting Certificate
•Mine Overseer’s Certificate of Competency or Mine Manager Certificate
•Minimum Five (5) years production experience in a mechanized mining environment
•Minimum of Five (5) years as a Shiftboss or Production Supervisor in a Greenstone environment
•Medium- and Short-term planning experience
•Code 8 Drivers License
•Valid certificate of physical fitness
