THE KEY OBJECTIVES ARE THE FOLLOWING:

To assist the Occupational Health Nurse in promoting, delivering, and maintaining a comprehensive occupational service to the employees.

YOUR JOB WILL BE TO:





Perform lung function tests, audiometry, and vision screening on patients and report deviations to the occupational health nurse.
Collect medical history from the patients.
Observe protocols to ensure compliance with Data Protection Act and patient confidentiality
Position patients safely for examinations and if necessary, adapting standard techniques depending on medical conditions associated with disability, illness, or trauma
Observe health and safety at work and welfare issues
Work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that an efficient service is provided to patients
Record patients’ results accurately.
Interpret the results to the patient, in a language that the patient understands, sign, and report any deviation to the occupational health nurse.
Perform necessary administrative tasks as and when required
Check the spirometry, audiometry, and vision machines and associated equipment and contributing to quality assurance and audit initiatives.
Check equipment regularly for malfunctions and report any faults immediately.
Calibrate and maintain equipment, as required.
Compile and submit daily statistics
Assist the Occupational Health nurses in compiling the monthly statistics.

Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12 Certificate
Certificate in Audiometry, Spirometry, and Vision

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Registration with SASOHN as an Audiometrist
Driver’s license will be beneficial
At least 6 months relevant experience in an occupational Health environment
Be able to travel in South Africa and SADEC countries

NB: Non – South African citizens must have a valid work permit
